A Fredericksburg Wedding Photo Booth Experience at Altstadt Brewery
New Paragraph
When you are planning a wedding in Fredericksburg, Texas, the guest experience matters just as much as the beautiful details. At the Harrison wedding at Altstadt Brewery, the goal was not simply to add a photo booth. The hostess intentionally chose multiple experiences so guests could celebrate, interact, create memories and take a little bit of the evening home with them.
For Amethyst Star Ventures, that meant bringing two very different experiences together: Starla, our roaming photo robot, and our 360 video experience.
And yes, Starla kept score.
Wedding Entertainment at Altstadt Brewery in Fredericksburg
Altstadt Brewery provides a distinctive setting for a Texas Hill Country wedding. The Harrison celebration gave us the opportunity to create entertainment that complemented the venue while giving guests something interactive to enjoy throughout the reception.

Instead of choosing one photo booth experience and expecting it to do everything, the hostess opted for an experience with variety.
Some moments called for a photo.
Others called for movement, music and a 360 video.
And sometimes Starla simply showed up ready to join the party.
That combination allowed the experiences to work together instead of competing for attention.
Meet Starla: A Roaming Photo Booth That Comes to the Guests
Traditional photo booths usually have one designated location. Starla changes that.

Guests could see their custom photo on Starla before receiving the finished image.
Our roaming photo robot moves throughout an event, bringing the photo experience directly into the celebration rather than requiring every guest to leave the action and find the booth.
At the Harrison wedding, Starla became part of the reception itself.
Guests could interact with her, pose for photos and receive their images digitally while continuing to enjoy the wedding.
By the end of the event, Starla had captured 73 photos.

She was quite pleased with herself.
Adding a 360 Video Booth to the Wedding Experience
While Starla handled the roaming photo experience, our 360 video booth gave guests something completely different.
The 360 experience is about movement.
Guests step onto the platform while the camera moves around them, creating a shareable video that feels more like a mini production than a traditional photo booth moment.

At the Harrison wedding, guests created 45 360 videos.
Starla interpreted the final score as:
Starla: 73
360: 45
We did not have the heart to explain that photos and videos are not measured the same way.
More importantly, there really was no competition.
The hostess had intentionally chosen both experiences because they served different purposes and together created a more complete entertainment experience for the wedding.
Why Offer More Than One Wedding Photo Booth Experience?
One of the things we love about designing wedding experiences is that there does not have to be one answer to the question, "What kind of photo booth should we have?"
A roaming photo experience and a 360 video experience create completely different memories.
Starla can move through the celebration and interact with guests where they already are.
The 360 creates a dedicated moment where guests can step into the spotlight and make a video.
Together, they add variety without making the experiences feel repetitive.
That was part of what made the Harrison wedding so much fun for us. The hostess did not simply purchase two pieces of equipment. She thoughtfully chose experiences that would contribute to the overall celebration she wanted to create.
Custom Wedding Experiences Designed Around the Event
We believe wedding photo booth entertainment should feel like it belongs at the wedding.

For the Harrison celebration, the experience included customized digital photo layouts designed around the wedding's burgundy, white and tan color palette.
Those details matter.
The graphics guests receive afterward become part of the visual memory of the wedding, so we want them to complement the event rather than look like a generic photo booth template that could have been used anywhere.
That same approach carries across our wedding experiences. From overlays and digital designs to interactive experiences and personalized touches, we design around the celebration rather than asking the celebration to fit around the booth.
Planning a Fredericksburg or Central Texas Wedding?
If you are planning a wedding at Altstadt Brewery, elsewhere in Fredericksburg or throughout Central Texas, your photo booth does not have to be just a place where guests stand in front of a camera.
It can become part of the entertainment.
Amethyst Star Ventures offers interactive wedding experiences including Starla the roaming photo robot, 360 video experiences, photo booth experiences, Audio Video Guestbook experiences and other customized activations designed to give guests more ways to participate in the celebration.
The right combination depends on the wedding you are creating.
The Harrison wedding was a perfect example of what can happen when the experience is planned intentionally.
And although we maintain that there was no competition between the booths...
Starla would like it officially documented that the final score was 73 to 45.
We have decided to let her have this one.
